After the last two days, 30km of hill climbing, I opted for the North Adelaide long run group this morning instead of the Waterfall Gully Breakfast run (well I forgot that the breakfast and run was on so it was North Adelaide by default).
Numbers were understandably well down with only five other committed runners arriving and setting off for Goodwood Road. My plan was to run 10km this morning and despite feeling very good in the legs for the first kilometer the slight climb up King William Rd was felt by every tired muscle in my legs.
The pace was up there with Tuesday morning pace so I was glad I was only doing 10k and I left the group at Greenhill Road to make my own way back through the South and then East Parklands.
At one point my left ankle was hurting a bit and I stopped for a little walk, all the while talking to myself…what was I saying? – “Harden up Princess!”. I ended up running 10.5km in 1hr2mins
